Recent observations of fast flows in the magnetotail obtained from Cluster mea-surements are reviewed. Being a constellation of four identical spacecraft, Cluster allows discrimination of spatial and temporal variations in magnetic field and plasma parameters. Multi-point observations identified three-dimensional structures and dynamics of the fast flows in the plasma sheet, which could be ascribed to localized and/or temporal features of the reconnection region. Furthermore, detailed compar-ison with the ionosphere revealed the magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling processes associated with the fast flows.
