The exploitation of district heating pipe systems has proved in the past that, most of the times, systems usually work in transient regimes. In these systems, the general interest is in the system’s “response ” to different perturbations, of higher or lower intensity, in short, „the hydraulic stability of the system”. In fact, the network systems must adapt according to the consumer’s demands, to have an adjustable functional behaviour. Even so, the hydraulic stability of district heating systems has a particular meaning, in compari-son with the same term in pure hydraulic, depending on different factors concerning the hydrodynamic re-gime and also on the physical and geometrical char-acteristics of the primary and secondary networks.
