The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has a vast area of application. In this research project its application is explored to package existing experience from physical objects, building parts, in order to predict the service life. The focus is to facilitate decision during the early stages of design in order to prevent moisture and mould problems. A prototype is going to be developed by using the crawl space design as an example why a literature review of two different AI-systems, Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) and Neural Networks (NN), has been performed.
