Natural Disasters and the Yield Curve of Florida Valencias This study estimates a model of the age-yield relationship for Florida Valencia oranges as a Sigmoid curve using a modified hyperbolic tangent function. From this model, the absence of natural disaster risk in the lower interior region is shown to have resulted in a higher yield function compared to other areas of the state. It is also shown that the rate of technology adoption influences the yield function
