Positioning techniques for vehicles are developed recently, especially multi-sensors integrating GPS receivers and DR sensors. The positioning accuracy has been increasing. Under these conditions, a fast and easy-to-realize map-matching algorithm is looked forward to. This paper presents an algorithm based on topological connectivity of road network. Continuous buffer bands are used to extract road candidates, and at the meanwhile, to reflect the tracking data’s nature in heading and length. Additionally, a novel road network data model is designed to support the matching process and it is also suitable for other traffic studies.
