Abstract:- Since the electronic processing bottleneck that the single control channel architecture introduce is high, we propose a new WDM control architecture, for WDM star-coupled photonic networks, to overcome this problem. Also the proposed network architecture except for reducing the headers electronic processing bottleneck at each station, restricts data channel collision. We examine a network model of finite population. We develop a queueing model using discrete time Markov chains to evaluate the system performance. It is given a rigorous steady state analysis and the numerical results are presented for various number of stations and channels for comparison.
