It has been reported that when a concerned mother once approached Albert Einstein for advice in helping her son learn science, the renowned scientist promptly responded, "Tell him stories". The author of this paper strongly concurs with the belief that stories are powerful. Further, stories are universally loved. Stories appeal to all regardless of age, gender, race, religion or nationality. Stories never run out of fashion. In the past decade, the author has used stories for multiple purposes such as to introduce a new topic in an enticing way; illustrate an idea or concept clearly; amuse and thus prevent monotony in a lesson; persuade and convince; motivate; stimulate learners ’ imagination; challenge learners ’ thinking, and, most importantly, educate in a subtle and enjoyable way rather than in a didactic manner. This paper, based on an award winning pedagogical project, details how stories and inquiry move in tandem.
