Due to the increasing interest in the development of wind energy as a power source, more researches are dedicated to efficient utilisation of wind generation system. This paper presents permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) wind energy conversion system (WECS). With the implementation of a current controlled voltage source inverter (CC-VSI) and shunt active power filter (APF) capabilities, the WECS is not only capable to supply extracted wind power to the load, but also can be used for harmonic mitigation and regulating the active and reactive power injected into the mains. Consequently, a more favourable power system results from the integration of APF into WECS. 1
