There is a great deal of confusion surrounding the Medi-care Modernization Act (MMA), formerly known as thePrescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (DIMA). Stephen Barlas touched upon the com-plexity of this topic in his recent column in P&T.1 In his article, he illustrated that even the writers of this legislation don’t understand how it will be implemented.
