The concept of ‘women’s health ’ is extremely broad, comprising all aspects of healthcare that are more likely to affect women. The recognition of the fact that women have specific healthcare needs is not new, but awareness of women’s health issues received a new impetus in 1994, when the U.S. Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) created the Office of Women’s Health (OWH).
