It is the objective of this discussion to collect and pre-sent sample preparation techniques for liquid scintillation counting. These techniques are concerned with real samples and describe or present some of the limits under which homo-geneous, single phase samples are obtained. It is assumed that it is necessary to have a liquid scintillation count-ing sample that is translucent, single phased and homogene-ous. It is further admitted that there may be some special cases in which the above criteria need not be applied to liquid scintillation samples.
