Abstract. The present article presents the steps involved in the transformation of the TE system that was used in the RTE3 competition in 2007 for the AVE 2008 exercise. We describe the rules followed in building the patterns for question transformation, the generation of the corresponding hypotheses and finally for answer ranking. We conclude by presenting an overview of the perform-ance obtained by this approach and a critical analysis of the errors obtained.
