CONCLUSIONS In this paper we introduce a new adaptive filter aiming at preserving thin structures, enhancing edges and smoothing noise. This filter takes into account both statistical and geometrical information that are locally estimated. The first leads to a better noise reduction, and the second allows the enhancement of details.
