The Eight Step Instructional Process (ESIP) is a comprehensive school reform model that was piloted in three low performing schools in Broward County. Funded through the Florida Department of Education, the goal of the ESIP was to improve the performance of all students through daily and consistent teaching of standards and benchmarks, frequent student assessments to improve student learning, and the training of teachers to use data to make instructional decisions. The attached report examines project implementation, the impact of the project on principal and teacher attitudes towards effective teaching, and the impact of the ESIP on student learning and behavior.
