Practicing Performativity

How did we kill the curiosity to learn? A sea of jaded faces urged me to develop my own creativity-based learning community by implementing three types of activities: communal/dramatic, relevant/interpersonal, and aesthetic/intrapersonal. Engaging students has and continues to be an ever-present, critical issue of education. By analyzing student motivation and learning styles through actual practice as well as theoretical lenses, I target the myths surrounding student engagement as well as related findings, thereby attempting to uncover appropriate teaching methods for motivating students. Questions and concepts are explored throughout this paper via scholarly, educational researchers, interviews with students, teachers, and consultants, as well as classroom phenomena. All affirm how the performativity of creativity-based activities has high potential to revitalize student engagement, autonomy, and identity
