A random sample of 200 schools was drawn from a population of 498 elementary schools. The study investigated the perceptions of 143 elementary school counselors throughout school districts in Mississippi. The study was guided by the following research questions: 1. What are the perceptions of elementary school counselors in Mississippi on character education and character traits within the curriculum? 2. To what extent are elementary school counselors in Mississippi prepared to provide leadership in character education?
