Abstract. Some aspects of our experience in integrating CAS Derive into under-graduate mathematics education are represented. The emphases is on how tools like computer algebra systems could be converted into mathematical instruments to strengthen a traditional methodology of teaching mathematics. To illustrate our experience selected topics and examples in Calculus that make use of CAS Derive are considered. “Challenge is energy of life” 1
