Integration of a Recovery Model to the Services of the Richmond Fellowship

The Richmond Fellowship WA has as part of its core values the concept that people can recover from an episode of mental dysfunction or disability. Whilst many recovery ideas and assumptions have been useful in the development of a comprehensive model of recovery from a mental illness, there is until recently a dearth of detailed, operationalised training programmes for staff and consumers who work within a recovery-based mental health service. The Richmond Fellowship of WA has been researching Recovery models in mental health for some time now and has developed a Recovery model based on the strengths and empowerment paradigms.
