Chaos based communication and sensing systems represent a new category of systems whose working principles differ significantly from conventional techniques. The BAE SYSTEMS Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) has been involved in the characterization of chaotic waveforms in an underwater environment. The main objective of the project was to investigate chaotic transmissions in an acoustic propagation channel through which the signal passes as it travels from the transmitter to the receiver.
