In this paper, Maxwell’s equations are solved for the ionospheric plasma during thunderstorm and lightning discharges. The influences of geomagnetic field and time-varying random irregularities developing an ac magnetic field have been taken into consideration. The thundercloud and lightning induced electric field has been numerically estimated for some specific ionospheric height range. The fluctuation of electron number density within the medium is also studied. 1
