APPROACHES TO THE UKRAINIAN WINE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

The quality of wine produced in any wine-growing region comes from high quality of the grapes, which are vinified using professional wine-making practices and traditions. In its turn, the quality of the grapes mainly depends on influence of environmental factors (soil, climate, topography, etc.) on vines. The work on determination of optimal areas for vine plantation placing for high quality production is made on the base of complex analysis of environmental conditions of the territory. The best areas for different grape varieties were mapped. It was recommended to agricultural enterprises with specialization in viticulture to use the maps as a basis for decision making concerning selection of a site and grape varieties for new vineyards
