and best use. The State’s power of eminent domain has been exercised in Ghana since colonial times under various enactments. The objective has been in pursuit of the socio-economic development for the public good. The result has been the compulsory acquisition of about 20 % of the lands in the country for the state. The acquisition and management of state lands have left in their trail several unresolved problems.
