The article outlines the main features of the Meaning-Text linguistic theory and the corresponding linguistic model. The important role of the formalized lexicon of a particular type the Explanatory Combinatorial Dictionary is emphasized. Samples of level-specific representations of utterances within the Meaning-Text theory as well as of some rules are given with short explanations. 1 THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK The presentation that follows is based on the Meaning-Text linguistic theory [ = MTT].
