Abstract. Currently, resource sharing and service offering remains subject to troublesome, manual configuration and to extensive, previously established agreements. Ambient Networks have emerged to facilitate cooperation between heterogeneous networks, usually among different administrative domains and technologies. This cooperation can be achieved with the adoption of a new key networking concept which is called by composition. The performance of the composition is a key factor for determining the feasibility of Ambient Networks, since it is expected to be extensively used during a typical interaction between a user and the network, itself.
