Abstract — This paper introduces the Recovery Project, which aims to identify indicators of post-disaster recovery using satellite imagery, internet-based statistics and advanced field survey techniques. This paper reviews the recovery literature as a means of introducing the recovery process and the considerations that must be made when evaluating recovery. This is followed by an introduction to the Recovery project and its two case study sites: 1. Ba
