The perpetrators of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy (MSBP) produce symptoms that often result in multiple doctor visits, hospitalizations, incorrect diagnoses, and unnecessary procedures for the victim. Immediate physical harm exists for all suffers of MSBP. However, growing research suggests that there are lasting adverse physical, psychological, and social effects for individual victims of MSBP.
