Tekkotsu is an open source application development framework for mobile robots that promotes a high level approach or robot programming which we call “cogni-tive robotics”. Originally developed for the Sony AIBO, Tekkotsu now supports a variety of platforms under the Linux and Mac OS X operating systems. We present the first version of a new educational robotics plat-form, Regis, designed specifically for teaching cogni-tive robotics
