Morphometric data arc presented for 68 lakes on the Precambrian Shield in Saskatche-wan. The lakes have a wide range of surface dimensions but sham a common history and a distinctive geologic environment. Basin form, insulosity, and lake configuration are examined in relation to lake areas and are found to be dependent. The nature of this dependency is linked to characteristics of lake origin and geology peculiar to the shield region
