Subjects were administered the state portion of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (Spielberger, et al. 1983) both before and after instruction and control conditions to measure stress response. State anxiety increased significantly from pre-test to post-test, with male subjects showing the greatest increase in anxiety level. No change in anxiety level was observed in the control group.
