Buckwheat is grown in the mid and high altitude areas of Indian Himalaya for grain and leafy vegetable. In order to identify a stable variety suitable for these areas, stability parameters of seven improved varieties of buckwheat were estimated under six hill environments for four traits viz., days to flowering, days to maturity, plant height and grain yield. The study revealed that the improved variety, Sangla B 1 was the ideally adapted variety for hill environments in Uttaranchal. it was, therefore, selected for seed production programme.
