A b s t r a c t: The following 4 genuine Oriental species of the halictine bees of the genus Halictus (the subgenus Seladonia) are redescribed, together with new distributional records and some life cycle data: H. lucidipennis SMITH (o, o*), H. propinquus VACHAL (o <5), H. vicinus VACHAL (o, 5) and H. subauratoides BLÜTHGEN (o). The subgenus Seladonia includes about 90 known species of dark green metallic, medium to small halictine bees, and most widespread among the three subgenera of the principally Palaearctic genus Halic-tus, although represented by rather a scarce number of species outside the Palaearctics (M1CHENER 1978).
