RECENT DEVELOPMENT IN POVERTY, RISK-SHARING, SOCIAL SAFETY NETS AND CHRONIC POVERTY IN THAILAND

This paper attempts to assess the recent development in poverty, income distribution, and social safety nets in Thailand. During the decade of high expansion path (1986-1996), Thailand was able to register the average annual growth rate of real income at 9 percent. Here is how one can appreciate such performance, take tha
