Abstract: Considering the debate between universal human Right doctrine and cultural relativism this paper attempts to discuss the conflict between the liberal doctrine of universal human rights and cultural relativism from the view point of human security in Asia. Using the Universal Declaration as a reference point this paper discuss the levels of conflict between human rights standard and cultural differences in Asia. It also discusses the criticisms about universal human right doctrine from relativist point of view and responses from a Universalist approach.
