New technologies, lumped together somewhat vaguely as "the Internet, " the "Web, " "cyberspace " or "being on line " are changing the world, thereby affecting the composition of the users, how business is done, as well as social interaction. It is the contention of the authors that the Internet and its associated technologies have impacted, and will continue to strongly impact women by providing many future career opportunities, more independence and greater equity in both personal and work relationships
