10 Effect of Wetland Quality on Sampling Bias Associated with Two Fish Survey Methods for Coastal Wetlands of the Lower Great Lakes

Coastal wetlands provide important spawning and nursery habitat for many fi shes of the Great Lakes (Jude and Pappas 1992) and have been the target of extensive restoration and conservation efforts in Canada over the past decade (Environment Canada and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 1999). The ecology of these coastal wetlands are known to be strongly infl uenced by land-use characteristics of their watershed
