Although there is a strong emphasis on providing in-service and preservice training related to positive behavioral sup-port (PBS), there is not a lot of information on what fam-ilies want from professionals who work with their children with problem behavior (Carr, Langdon, & Yarbrough, 1999; Horner, Diemer, & Brazeau, 1992; Walker, Colvin, & Ram-sey, 1995). Recently, we conducted a qualitative study fo-cusing on family quality of life and family–professional partnerships. We had an opportunity to listen to the per-spectives of 69 family members who have children with disabilities who were involved in 16 focus groups.
