In this paper the complete design and analysis of microprocessor based closed loop static slip energy recovery controlled slip ring induction motor drive is presented. The speed and current controllers are implemented using INTEL-8085 microprocessor. The set of non-linear differential equations of the drive based on dc equivalent circuit are linearized around an operating point. Using forward approximation of PI-controller, the transfer functions of inner current and outer speed loop in z-domain are obtained. Jury stability criterion is used for the stability analysis and to find the range of controller’s parameters. The controllers are designed for the best dynamic response of the drive.
