Abstract. We prove that for any positive integer k the stabilization of a 1k-surgery curve in a contact surgery diagram induces an overtwisted contact structure. In [DG], Ding and Geiges proved that every (closed) contact 3-manifold can be given by a contact (±1)-surgery on a Legendrian link in the standard contact S3.
