DETECTION AND CHARACTERISATION OF RESIDUAL MINING SUBSIDENCE

The extraction of underground resources induces subsidence on the surface. The soil deformations often create disorders in structures and infrastructures. In the case of coal mining, the major part of subsidence occurs during active mine, and the residual subsidence may cover a long period of about 5 years after the end of the mining works.
