WITH RENEWABLE METHANOL

The energy requirements of Israel are 1/3 electricity 1/3 transportation and 1/3 other. In previous studies MST showed how to transform Israel electric economy from fossil base to solar base (80 % of the energy by solar) using CPV technology and high efficiency multi-junctions solar cells. During the process of this first stage, Israel can embark on transformation of its transportation economy from oil to renewable methanol. The basis for Methanol production will be CPV Solar Power Plants for the production of renewable hydrogen which will be synthesized with atmospheric CO2 to produce Methanol. We will present the financial implications of shifting to Methanol Economy and compare it to the current “business as usual ” oil scenario. We'll present the Methanol Economy impact on Israel's economy in terms of foreign currency savings and creation of jobs. We'll show that entering the Methanol Era will save the Israeli economy about $180B over 40 years and will create about 140,000 jobs after 40 years
