The energy requirements of Israel are 1/3 electricity 1/3 transportation and 1/3 other. In previous studies MST showed how to transform Israel electric economy from fossil base to solar base (80 % of the energy by solar) using CPV technology and high efficiency multi-junctions solar cells. During the process of this first stage, Israel can embark on transformation of its transportation economy from oil to renewable methanol. The basis for Methanol production will be CPV Solar Power Plants for the production of renewable hydrogen which will be synthesized with atmospheric CO2 to produce Methanol.
