Despite the growing importance of SCM, the absolute majority of research deals with the management of the tangible, or physical supply chains. This paper explores the application of the SCM service organisations. It proposes a generic framework for conceptualising SCM in the broad service sector, drawing concepts from the extant SCM and Service Management literatures.
