During fine-tuning of the stage acoustics of the main auditorium of Casa da Musica, designed by Office for Metropolitan Architecture, in Porto (Portugal) we were confronted with conflicting comments with respect to the acoustic effect of different canopy positions. The well known stage parameters, ST and CS, did not point out a difference in results for the different canopy positions, while the conductor's experience did. So we carried out several measurements and tried to find a parameter that could clarify the contradictory experiences of the musicians and the conductor.
