In gLite nomenclature, tasks users wants to send to Grid are called jobs. In order to send jobs, users must belong to an authorised Virtual Organisation and fulfill a series of security restrictions. For each job to be submitted the protocols and specifications must indicate, at least, these elements: ● Program to be executed, or source code to be compiled. ● Execution parameters. ● Input and output files. ● Special conditions, for instance, the need for some compiler or library. ● Time constraints, or particular storage needs. In gLite, all these values are defined using the Job Definition Language (JDL) [3]. Users must write a file with a set of specifications in JDL, and then execute a series of commands in order to send jobs to the CE via the RB and more commands to retrieve results. Figure 2 shows an example of JDL file, with some few parameters. All these commands could result difficult to learn and use for non specialised users
