Process or tool to allow managers to integrate the ecological benefits of fire into the management process. This presentation was developed as part of a broader effort to understand the current fire management system in the US in order to support federal agencies ’ abilities to achieve national fire policy goals – in particular restoring fire-adapted ecosystems, protecting private property and lives. The first section of the presentation addresses the problem definition (slides 1-11) and concludes with an outline of tasks for a possible solution (Slides 12-14).
