Abstract. Viscosity of shock-compressed A1 and Pb was determined at pressures 31-202 C-Pa and 35-250 GPa by experimental investigation of the development of small perturbations in the shock wave front. Results of experiment shown that viscosities Al and Pb at pressure 31 GPa and 35 GPa are practically equal and amount to (2-4)104 P. Under these conditions A1 and Pb are deformed by 180 % at strain rate of 107 sec-1.
