Genetic and health risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease, such as apolipoprotein E-e4 (APOE-e4) and high cholesterol, have been investigated separately in relation to cognitive decline, yet few studies have examined domain-specific cognitive deficits associated with APOE (Small, Basun, & Bäckman, 1998) or how this may be moderated by serum cholesterol level. We examined whether APOE-e4 (n=121) and non-e4 carriers (n=347) showed significant mean level differences in four domains of neuropsychological measures.
