In this paper, a simulation method called the differential transformation method is applied to solve a kind of nonlinear equation. The equation is strongly nonlinear with cubic nonlinearity and self-excitation terms. The time response under different initial conditions are illustrated and discussed. The characteristics of the solution are discussed, too
