This paper addresses the problem of performing collision detection between two flexible objects, the skin and the cloth in real-time animation of virtual humans,. In order to achieve fast collision detection we propose a suitable oriented bounding boxes (OBB) hierarchy for deforming bodies that can be constructed in a pre-processing phase, and then updated efficiently during the animation. These OBBs give a coarse approximation of the human body that can be used for a preliminary test and therefore reduce the number of triangles against which collision detection needs to be tested. 1
