Lexical ambiguity resolution has been a challenging problem, especially for languages, with little or no annotated data available. Chunking is the task of identifying the phrases in the text and labeling them appropriately. In this paper, we use HMM-based approach in combination with probability models of certain contextual features for POS tagging and chunking of Hindi sentences. The work is ongoing and currently it has about 76% precision in tagging and around same number for chunking
