Spectral integration for several tone-in-noise conditions is discussed and an experiment is conducted for both monaural (NoSo) and binau-ral conditions (NoS). Monaural detection thresholds for running-noise maskers increased for masker bandwidths up to the critical bandwidth and remained constant for larger bandwidths. Binaural conditions and monaural conditions with a frozen-noise masker revealed dierent spec-tral integration patterns that are monotonic for masker bandwidth be-low and beyond the critical bandwidth, an eect known as the appar-ently wider binaural critical band. Finally we show a dierent type of spectral integration obtained for binaural conditions with a reduced masker correlation (NS) or for NoS with an overall interaural...
